20 YEARS FÜNF HÖFE
An acrobat will float on a vertical rope in the Hanging Gardens and serve a glass of Pommery Brut Royal or Brut Rosé to any visitor who wishes. The ensemble of passages and courtyards is an exciting mix of listed and modern architecture, planned by the renowned Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron, who are also responsible for the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. The architecture is complemented by art on the building, such as the "Sphere" by the Icelandic artist Ólafur Elíasson in the Viscardihof, the Hanging Gardens by Tita Giese - the largest indoor hanging gardens of this kind in the world - as well as floor art by Thomas Ruff and concept texts by Rémy Zaugg. In 2001, the Association of German Architects awarded the FÜNF HÖFE a prize for special architectural achievements.
